Winter Swimming Relieves Stress and Improves Quality of Sleep
Every basically healthy person can safely swim in a hole in the ice.
When you leave the sauna, walk slowly so that your body cools down a bit before you take a dip in the hole in the ice. Make it brief and don't put your head under water.
This can be repeated a few times, and we recommend wearing something warm after swimming.
Spring Water
Lake Kirrinen is filled with springs and the water is very refreshing in summer as well.
Enjoy your swim!
Lakeside Sauna
At the Hahkiala Manor you can enjoy sauna in „presidential style", because the manor's lakeside sauna is an exact replica of the sauna of the Finnish president's summer residence.
The fire room of the sauna is an ideal place to spend a relaxed evening after a visit to the sauna. The fire room and sauna have space for 15 persons each, and the sauna has a separate dressing/cooling room.
After the sauna guests can cool off by taking a swim in the clear waters of the Lake Kirrinen, and in wintertime by taking a dip in a hole in the ice.
Bathing in a Wine Cask
In front of the sauna you will find a very special attraction of the Manor: Old wine casks made of oak that serve as hot tubs. Each one of them has space for about 12 persons. Taking a warm bath outdoors, as stars adorn the winter firmament and the moon casts ist magical light over the region, is a truly memorable experience!
